Hats off to Peyton and the Colts!

I wanted to watch the Super Bowl—first one I’ve missed in forever (frankly, I missed the commercials as much as anything!). But in order to watch it, I would’ve had to stay up all night. I think it started after 6 PM in Miami, which means it started after midnight here. And, I would’ve had to watch it in a bar—although that might’ve been fun. It was the staying up all night and walking home in the early morning hours (no Metro when it ended—well, maybe—5 AM?) that didn’t seem to be very smart.

I did see advertising in the expatriate news for bars that would be open all night for Super Bowl parties. And I walked by an old bar near Notre-Dame yesterday afternoon that had the same announcement on its windows. Oh well, another opportunity lost. (Believe me, if the Seahawks had been involved, I would've made some new friends!)

Anyway, I’m glad to see the best man win. I was rooting for Peyton and his Colts so I’m very happy for them. Now I need to get back to reading all about the game. Wow—first Super Bowl in the rain….hmmm, a Bears 92-yard TD return on the first kickoff….and then Peyton threw an interception….Rex didn’t show up again… Gotta find the articles about the commercials…
